Secrete of Success part 5: Endurance

It is only in the dictionary that success comes before work. In life work comes before success. In the process of working however many things will want to make you weary and give up your dream. But hey! You have gone too far to give up your dream. What I have to tell you is to endure. Watch out for the following three forces to combat with.

External Forces

Endurance is the spirit that holds on to the cross till mankind is saved. That was what Jesus did. At a time external forces were ridiculing Him. One said “save yourself and save us”. It was a mere criminal that said that to Him. That was not all. His mum and other family members tried to tamper with His dream. Mum was looking for Him when He first started at age twelve and was like ” what are you doing? You dad and I have been looking for you…” At another time they were looking for Him again and His disciples said to Him “Your mum and relatives are outside looking for you”. What were they looking for Him for? They wanted to make Him saviour of their family only. They wanted His attention. They wanted Him at home. But He would always tell them ” I must do the work of Him that has sent me”. He didn’t succumb to the emotional voice of His relatives. He acted logically. I am sure He gave them attention but He didn’t give them the time that was meant for ministry.

What about external voices of well to do personalities in the society that tried to short circuit Him? Scribes, Pharisees, men that were knowledgeable in law that should embrace and encourage Him became enemies to Him. They opposed Him, called Him names for a criminal. But He was dream focused. The dream was to save humanity which countless today are beneficiaries already.

Listen, you must be ready for these external forces. Some are in your family, others are at work place, others are of high classes, others are nonentities the list is endless. It may be economic forces, political forces, international standard and world powers. How you react to them is very important. Do you allow them to weigh you down or do you learn a lesson from them and move on.

Internal Forces

In fact internal forces would not let Him be, saying to His inner man that they couldn’t take what He was passing through any longer. The pressure was much that He once said to His Father in prayer “Father if possible let this cup pass over Me”. imagine what would have happened to you and I if God had answered that prayer that day. Thank God He added the clause “…but not my will but Your will be done.”

Internal forces that are ready to oppose you include but not limited to procrastination, inferiority complex, unbelief, lack of patience and endurance. What about lack of temperament and spirit of compromise? In short every destiny owner need to keep in check to ensure that no fruit of the Spirit is lacking per time. The absence of any is an internal enemy of fulfilment.

Unknown Forces

The devil is into full time deception business

Story was told of an evangelist sometimes ago who went to hold a crusade somewhere. On day one there was manifestation of power. All manner of miracles were performed. Because the manifestion was huge on day two everywhere was jampacked with people. People however didn’t know what happened after day one of the program. On getting to the hotel room the man of God met a naked lady on his bed. With sweat from the altar he removed his suit and went into the lady. After the few minute affair the lady stood up and began laughing. As he was laughing profusely the man asked why? “We have been chasing you” she said “for the past forty years. But today we have caught you.” She laughed more, got dressed up and disappeared. That was the end for him. He jumped from the window of the upstairs and lost his destiny and life.

Unlike man who is often distracted with day to day businesses the devil’s only business is deception. When he is pressuring you to sin he is in most cases after truncating your destiny. This is not because he needs your destiny. You are the only one that can manifest your destiny. So, why is he after your destiny? He just want to truncate it. As he was not allowed to fulfill his desire to overthrow God he is angry that your own purpose will eventually be a reality. So you need to take your stand!

(Image is from here)

You don’t just endure with certain forces you take your stand against them in place of prayer. In addition you should be results getting oriented than barrier threatening orientation. Jesus’ focus was the saving of mankind and congratulation to Him… His work several years ago is still saving today. He made the devil realise over and over He is storm. Millions of believers including me are beneficiaries today. It really pays to endure.

What about the character of this series, Elisha? He endured ridicule from fellow young prophets and delay from his boss but he got what they all could not get. So endure I say. Take your stand when you ought to. However you dim fit it is only what you allow that will be part of your destiny.

In a relationship, dating or courting, is it okay to kiss? Just a kiss, nothing more. After all, the Bible says we should greet one another with a holy kiss!

Kissing in itself is not a sin depending on where you kiss, the problem is, kissing alone doesn’t satisfy!

There is a way you feel around someone you have no single chemistry for. If they hug you, squeeze you or shake you, you may feel nothing. That is why some men won’t feel a single sexual arousal for their secretary or a seducer even if she strips herself naked. He is just not attracted to her, period!

But the one you have emotion for is a different ball game entirely. Your heart is involved, your affection is let loose, your desire for them is increasing by the day, once they kiss you, either on the head or cheek, there is a spark. A sexual current sweeps over you from head to toe, a shiver of excitement runs through your veins, your eyes meet and there is an unspoken expression of wanting more. Of course, no one voiced it, you parted ways but you can’t just get the experience out of your head. You meet again, do it again and it lost its spark, why? Familiarity with it. Then you try something new, you move from fore head to nose, then to cheeks, to the side of the mouth, then to lips, to teeth, to tongue, to inner mouth and your whole body is set on fire! You don’t stand still when kissing. Your hands began to move to forbidden places, you threw all caution to the wind as the fire was about setting your whole body ablaze! You let go of your mind, your reasoning, your logic, your resolve, your self discipline, the Holy Spirit and had sex! By the time you wake up from your slumber, your virginity is gone forever! Your dignity is gone out of the window with it and your self respect is trodden upon. Your value is broken and shattered! Your future looks bleak as you have a new thought to haunt you daily: Pregnancy, HIV, Gonorrhea, Herpes simplex, Herpes Zoster and other STD…it is after then you will remember you are still in school, ought to face your studies or career and build something great for yourself but now, you are divided, broken and shattered! No pre-marital sex leaves you the same, not one! A new spirit enters you, the spirit of lust among others and you begin to suffer from identity crisis!

“Flee all appearances of evil” is what the bible says. Yoruba proverbs says “what you don’t want to eat, don’t smell!” If you smell it you are gonna eat it!

I and hubby never hugged once while in school, what for? We came to study not to romance! The first time he held my hand after he came to see my dad (we had both graduated), I felt that “electric shock”! The excitement ran through me from head to toe, that happened on the road while seeing him off. After that, he occasionally held my hands but there was no more spark, I was familiar with that but I wanted more. I wanted to wrap myself round him. I wanted to look into his eyeballs. I wanted that spark again, a bigger, greater one. I wanted romance, I wanted sex.

Hubby will never do that. Point a gun at his brain and command him to do it, he wouldn’t budge. He is very strong willed against sin especially fornication, he hates it with passion! We had to fix our wedding date and did things properly. I was already a spinster with a good job, he had a good job as a bachelor too so no need delaying marriage and burn to death! Our first sex together after 5 years of being in a relationship was on the wedding night!

Where in the name of God are you rushing go? You are just 3 months in courtship and already clamoring for a kiss? What’s your problem? Is that the only reason you are in courtship? Ain’t nothing else in your brain???

Stop using the scripture as a lame excuse to kiss. We all know that is the way they greet people in those days and they definitely didn’t have sexual chemistry for all the church members. If you want to greet your fiance/fiancee, greet them according to your culture, that is what the Bible says!

May you not do things in your courtship you will regret throughout your life in Jesus’ name.

This message was preached by Seun Oladele, 2017. God bless her soul.

Secrete of Success Part 4: Desire & Determination

Desire and determination are two ingredients of success that has driven the making and breaking of world records. No wonder a younger minister once went to an older minister to know how to be baptised in the Holy Ghost. And the older minister told him to desire it. As the older minidter was emphasizing: desire, desire, desire…the younger minister said “but I’ve been desiring it.” The older minister then kept quiet.

As they were walking and they got to a swimming pool the older minister pushed him into the water and pressed him to the floor of the water. After a while he lifted him up and then pressed him down again. As the young man struggled for air he released him for about three seconds and returned him again. He repeated this the third time. When he finally brought him out and saw the way he was gasping for air the older minister asked him “how much did you desire air when you were in the water?”  “More than” he said, gasping profusely for air “anything you can think”. Then the minister told him”this is how much you should desire the Holy Spirit.”

Before I make some few comments I want you to watch and act in accordance to the short video clip below.

Elijah made several attempts to discourage Elisha but Elisha remained adamant. That was determination. Other young prophets like Elisha tried to stop him but he was unstoppable. You know why? Because he was determined. Nothing can stop a man that is determined. And nothing gives birth to determination like desire. In Elijah’s lifetime he performed 16 miracles but Elisha performed 32. He was so successful that even his bones after he died woke a dead man. It didn’t happen overnight. It started with his determination to see his desire.

Before I round this off there is a decision I need you to make. This decision has saved millions of people from shame and disgrace and made them successful. Some people are yet to make it because they are yet to be determined to be successful. It is decision to accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Reason is simply because a life without Christ is a life in crises. The type of success I want you to have is the one that makes you rich forever. You are rich in this life and the one to come. Besides “the gift of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow to it.” I think a word is enough for the wise. Thanks. God bless. See you at the top.

Secrete To Success Part 3: Commitment

Continuing in this alphabetical order of mysteries behind success I am sharing the secrete ‘commitment.’

(Click here to watch I shall be a Success, a short video clip on success establishment)

commitment is the act of binding yourself (intellectually or emotionally) to a course of action. The Bible says better is the end of a thing than its beginning. Commitment is staying on a job or task until success is achieved. It is to endure a task till you have the best end.

Christ made this secrete of success obvious in His life when He said “for their sake I sanctify myself” (John 17:19). When you are committed you can’t be omitted. You can’t be committed and powers to you not submitted. The whole world is under Christ today because He was unrepentantly committed to saving humanity.

Between Abraham and Christ’s arrival there was law given to keep people under control:

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:24-29 KJV

We would still have remained under the yoke of the law. We are as free as we are today because Christ was committed to making the promise come to pass. Imagine He lost focus and mingled with sinful affairs of man like many of us today it would have all being a failure.

(Click here to watch I shall be a Success, a short video clip on success establishment)

What about Elisha? He was a successful businessman when he left his farming business to follow his master, Elijah. He became twice a success of his master because he channeled all the commitment with which he was doing his farming business into serving his master. Notice that Elisha has been a perpetually committed fellow in life. Your commitment in little assignments leads to bigger assignments that attract more consignments.

How Does Commitment Makes Success a Reality?

  • It breaks you from distractions: Do you remember when Peter wanted to prevent Christ from dying for you? Christ said to the devil manifesting in Peter to get behind Him because that was a distraction.

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men (Mark 8:31-33)

When you are committed you are unstoppable as nothing is able to distract you. At times distractions can come from close friends/relatives. They may throw stones at you. But your commitments will determine if you will build a bridge or a wall with the stones. If you build a bridge it will help you to cross over to your next level. But if it’s a wall you built with it it will only block your way forward.

(Click here to watch I shall be a Success, a short video clip on success establishment)

  • Commitment Concentrates Your Energy: the sunlight can be used to set a paper on fire. But the secrete is to use a convex mirror that can concentrate the sunlight energy to a point where the paper is. Ordinarily the sunlight energy is diverted. Not until it is concentrated its potential to set object on fire is lucked up. Many today are too diverted. They are not focused enough to achieve success. They just need to be committed to achieve this. Christ would say “I will do the work of Father…” His energy was totally channelled to His commitment.
  • Commitment Sets You Apart: Beneath the base is where the crowd is. To stand above at the top where only few are demands commitment. Show me a man who is committed to his task and I will show you a man who has stood out. Christ is standing out till forever because He set Himself apart. He said: “and for their sake I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified…” That is to spice up His commitment.

As I round this episode up I like you to remember that: you can’t be committed and be omitted. And you can’t be committed and to you powers will not be submitted.

As you apply this key I am seeing you at the top already.

Secrete of Success 2: Believe

Like a three fold cord that cannot be broken three personalities can be associated with success and it starts with self. Some people don’t even believe they have what it takes to succeed. To be successful in anything requires believe in the following personalities.

I. Believe in Yourself

Believing in yourself is knowing that success is part of your genotypic make up. Listen to me when God was creating you, he programmed success into your system. Hear Him say:

And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.Gen.1:28

Be fruitful, and multiply means He had programmed the seed of taking over in you. Why then should you doubt your capacity to succeed. God believes in you. He can’t say you should be fruitful if you can’t. So first believe He has programmed you to be a success. Get it settled in you: ‘I am a success’. Don’t doubt it for a second. If there is anything you must doubt doubt your doubt not your capacity. Look into the mirror and declare to yourself: ‘I am success programmed!’

2. Believe in Your Leaders

Just before God took Elijah to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on a walk out of Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here. God has sent me on an errand to Bethel.” Elisha said, “Not on your life! I’m not letting you out of my sight!” So they both went to Bethel. 2 Kings 2:1-2, Msg

The number of miracles performed by Elisha was 32 which is times two of Elijah’s 16 miracles. Before Elisha could however get this double portion of Elijah’s anointing Elisha believed in Elijah. He couldn’t have gotten anything from Elijah if not that he believed in him. The believe in the leaders God has placed over you helps you get blessed through them, which may include what they struggled for years to gather as experience, anointing and blessings.

… Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 2 Chronicles 20:20 NIV

Success does not jump on anybody. It is a channel God will use to pass the success on you. Watch out not to underrate your destiny helper. He may be a leader in your fellowship or a follower or just a casual friend, neighbour, stranger or even an enemy. Be on the watch to be able to believe such a fellow when you make contact.

3. Believe in God

Somebody has said when you go through life alone it is called race but when you go through life with God it is called Grace. When you run a race you struggle hard but when you run on grace you don’t sweat to get what others struggled had for. There is a God-factor that makes race become Grace.

Hence believing in God is a major key. Jehoshephat said to people of Judah “Iisten to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld…” If Elisha did not believe in God of Elijah he would not trust follow him. I see God giving you double of your desire. Just believe in Him.

God as an investor has already started investing in you and is ready to invest more in you to be a success. He is however saying “do you believe you can be successful? Do you believe in the leadership I have provided for you? Do you believe in Me?”

Your believe in Him starts with accepting Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Do that and see you at the top.

Lord help me see the best you have me and help believe in all that I ought to to be successful

Secret of Success: Attention

A professor was giving a lecture on autopsies, and decided to give them a few basics before starting. “You must be capable of two things to do in autopsy. The first thing is that you must have no sense of fear.” At this point, the lecturer sticks his finger into the dead man’s anus, and then licks. He asks all the students to do the same thing with the corpses in front of them. After a couple of minutes silence, they followed suit. “The second thing is that” he said “you must have an acute sense of observation: I stuck my middle finger into the corpse’s anus, but I licked my index.” (submitted by Steve)

They had paid school fees but what they were yet to pay was attention. Attention is giving heed to details. It is what differentiates an A student from an F student. To get the needed details to pass at times an A student may spend up to half a day studying a material. I remember once spending 15 hours at a stretch to get details in one of my undergraduate courses. Later I read of another student who graduated first class as he was always spending more than 12 hours just to get the needed details every week.

Paying attention to details may sup up your energy and time but no one pays attention to details and emerge or remain a failure.

(Click Pressed Down but not Destroyed to watch a short video on how someone’s attention was drawn to details.)

Joshua succeeded in taking the Israelites to the promised land because he paid attention to some mistakes that affected Moses’ leadership. Just as Moses sent people to spy the land Joshua also sent men. The sending of men by Moses is documented thus:

So Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the command of the LORD, all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel (Numbers 13:3)

And this is how Joshua sent men too:

Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there (Joshua 12:1, NIV)

There is however difference in how they handled their reports. Moses allowed the spies to talk directly to every body, thereby leading to the confusion among the people:

(Numbers 13:26-28, KJV)

Joshua was a attentive not to allow such reoccur. He rather received and communicated the report by himself:

(Joshua 12:23-24, KJV)

He would have made the same mistake. He would have failed too. He was however success. Israelites were encouraged to destroy Jericho as he gave them details by himself.

Indeed no one pays attention to details and emerge or remain a failure.

(Click Pressed Down but not Destroyed to watch a short video on how someone’s attention was drawn to details.)

I shall be a success. I cannot fail my generation. I cannot fail God. I will make it on earth and heaven at last. I will therefore pay the needed attention to the needed details to be successful. See you at the top and remain blessed.
